College essays that add value to the application explain the meaning of the applicant’s life experiences and give insight to the applicant’s personality. Being able to craft that content, while in the middle of the fall semester of Senior year, and fit their 17 years of life into 500 words or less can be a complicated task. Using our 35 plus years of collective educational experience, we recorded a series of podcasts to assist college bound teens tackle the complex college admissions essays for the Common Application. Below is the first podcast of the series. Upcoming editions will define each Common Application essay prompt (which are brand new for Fall 2013), as well as offer tips for how to draft competitive application essays.
